Kavon Williams scored a game-high 16 points to help Cheyenne’s boys basketball team upset visiting Desert Pines, 56-52 on Tuesday.
Las Vegas battled back from as many as 16 points down in the second half Tuesday but couldn’t find an answer for Trevin Knell and lost 69-58 to Woods Cross (Utah) in the third-place game of the Eastbay Division at Bishop Gorman.
Bishop Gorman saw a nine-point lead fizzle away in the final 4:43 of regulation and went on to lose 86-79 in overtime to nationally ranked Mater Dei (California) in the semifinals of the Tarknanian Classic’s Platinum Division.
Clark went cold from the field against nationally ranked Chino Hills (California) and saw a 10-point lead turn into a 91-87 loss in the opening round of the Platinum Division at the Tarkanian Classic.
