Jonathan Tendale scored eight of Chaparral’s 14 points in overtime to lead the Cowboys’ boys basketball team to a 71-66 road victory over Virgin Valley on Friday.
Marquise Raybon had 26 points, and Donovan Joyner added 23 points to lift Las Vegas’ boys basketball team to an 81-72 home win over Eldorado on Wednesday.
Foothill used a dominant first half to run away with a 90-66 victory over Arbor View in the championship game of the Foothill Holiday Classic.
Arbor View’s Comillion Smith scored a game-high 23 points Monday, and his cousin, Sevonyea Smith, collected 10 rebounds to help power the Aggies past Chaparral 83-69 in the Foothill Holiday Classic.
After a lackluster first half, Foothill came out and dominated Rancho in the second half and rolled to a 62-42 victory at the Foothill Holiday Classic.
It came down to the final possession, and Cimarron-Memorial was able to edge Chaparral 75-74 at the Foothill Holiday Classic.
Keelan Wickersham poured in a game-high 25 points, and Spring Valley’s boys basketball team rallied to turn back visiting Bonanza 74-67 on Tuesday.
Demetrius Valdez hit six 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 37 points on Friday to rally Durango’s boys basketball team to a 76-63 win over visiting Desert Oasis.
Troy Brown scored 24 points on Thursday, and Centennial’s boys basketball team pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat visiting Cimarron-Memorial, 62-56.
Jalen Graves scored nine of his 11 points in the third quarter Wednesday to help the Desert Pines to a 72-66 boys basketball win over host Liberty.
Geoff Faries connected on five 3-pointers and finished with 17 points as Basic’s boys basketball team held on for a 64-61 win over visiting Chaparral on Thursday.
Miguel Pena’s three-point play in the closing seconds gave Tech’s boys basketball team a 53-51 win over host Bonanza on Monday.
The spring signing period for NCAA Division I and II schools starts Wednesday, and, unlike most years, it is expected to be quiet locally.
