DIVISION IV BOYS: Junior class propels Lions into league title game

The Adelson School juniors, led by forward Jake Buchman, accounted for 48 points Friday as the Lions defeated Spring Mountain, 61-52 in a Division IV Southern League semifinal at Desert Pines.

BOYS BASKETBALL: Bergen lifts Crusaders by Mojave

Luke Bergen scored 14 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter and hit the go-ahead 3-pointer from the right wing with eight seconds to go Friday to lift Faith Lutheran’s boys basketball team to a 73-72 win over visiting Mojave.

Max Hisatake had 22 points and 18 rebounds and made a key defensive stop in the game’s final possession in the Mustangs’ 60-57 upset win over Bonanza in a third-round game of the Vegas Invitational at Mountain View.
