ROUNDUP: Burns leads late push as Needles boys rally past Lake Mead

Aaron Burns scored 12 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter to help Needles’ boys basketball team rally for an 81-75 road win over Lake Mead on Saturday.

Lewis Larrabee hit six 3-pointers en route to 23 points for Needles, and teammate Michael Hills had 21 points. The Mustangs outscored Lake Mead, 28-22 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

L.J. Yamzon scored 43 points for Lake Mead. The sophomore hit four 3-pointers and was 16-for-17 from the free-throw line.

Caleb Pittman added 14 points and 13 rebounds for the Eagles.

Beatty 59, Tonopah 48 — At Beatty, the Hornets held the Muckers scoreless in overtime to claim the victory.

Justin Dunlap had 18 points, and Anthony Turner scored 10 to lead Beatty.

Seth Littlefield and David McGaw each had 14 points for Tonopah.

Lincoln County 83, Calvary Chapel 38 — At Panaca, Dantley Walker had 26 points and 20 assists to help the Lynx rout the Lions.

Chandler Katschke added 23 points and nine rebounds, and Ryan Rippetoe scored 11 for Lincoln County, which led 43-16 at the half.

The Meadows 50, Laughlin 46 — At Laughlin, Garrett Gosse scored 18 points to help the Mustangs outlast the Cougars.

GIRLS

Needles 56, Lake Mead 34 — At Lake Mead, Gena Chavira had 17 points, and the Mustangs used a 16-0 third-quarter run to down the Eagles.

Abby Chandler added 14 points, and Holly Laswell scored 11 for Needles.

Taylor Badua-Kono had 13 points for Lake Mead, which led 27-26 at the half.

Mountain View 42, Agassi Prep 26 — At Agassi Prep, Briana Marruffo scored 17 points to lead the Saints past the Stars.

Patrice Marshall added eight points for Mountain View, which opened the second half on a 9-0 run to build a 27-13 lead.

Kayla Johnson led Agassi Prep with nine points.

Lincoln County 63, Calvary Chapel 27 — At Panaca, Melanie Florence and Leti Escobedo each had 13 points to help the Lynx cruise past the Lions.

Tia Florence added 11 points for Lincoln County, which outscored Calvary Chapel 32-11 in the middle two quarters.

Phallen Nelson led the Lions with 12 points.

Laughlin 28, The Meadows 16 — At Laughlin, Paty Valdez scored 11 points to give the Cougars a win over the Mustangs.

Pahranagat Valley 60, Lund 16 — At Lund, Kennedy Huntsman had six rebounds in the second half to help the Panthers rout the Mustangs.

Melynda Boren had 10 points for Lund.

Yosemite (Calif.) 54, Foothill 33 — At Foothill, Sydnee Fipps scored 29 points to lead the Badgers past the Falcons.

Christina Nash led Foothill with 10 points.
