ROUNDUP: Dixon leads Centennial boys past Rolling Meadows

Aaseem Dixon had 22 points and eight assists Wednesday as Centennial’s boys basketball team pulled away for a 79-62 win over Rolling Meadows (Ill.) in the Elgin (Ill.) Tournament.
Evan Martin added 14 points and eight rebounds, and Marcus Allen supplied 14 points and seven assists for Centennial, which led 34-25 at the half.

Eldorado 61, Timpanogos (Utah) 53 — At St. George, Utah, Curtis Stewart scored 20 points as the Sundevils took an early lead and held off the Timberwolves and advance to the championship game of the Great 8 Tournament.
 
Markeith Floyd drained four 3-pointers for 12 points for Eldorado, which blitzed to a 17-6 lead in the first quarter and held off a 23-17 second-quarter push by Timpanogos.
 
DaQuon Thrower added 10 points for the Sundevils.
 
Ryan Van Pelt paced the Timberwolves with 15 points.
Pahranagat Valley 78, Lincoln County 64 — At Alamo, Cody Hosier scored 19 points to lead a balanced offense as the Panthers beat the Lynx.
Jeremy Roemer had 18 points for Pahranagat Valley, which got 16 points from Kade Wadsworth and 14 points from Tyler Higbee.
Dantley Walker poured in 39 points for Lincoln County, and teammate Chandler Katschke added 12 points.
GIRLS
Centennial 71, Kennedale (Texas) 58 — At Phoenix, Tamera Williams scored 23 points to lead the Bulldogs past the Wildcats in the Nike Tournament of Champions.
Breanna Workman had 14 points and 10 rebounds for Centennial, and Jada Brown contributed 13 points.
Bishop Gorman 67, St. Mary’s Catholic (Canada) 57 — At Phoenix, Chelsie Pitt scored 27 points, and the Gaels built a 43-14 halftime lead before holding off St. Mary’s in the Nike Tournament of Champions.
Zhane Dikes added 11 points, and Diamond Majors and Amber Lane each tallied eight points for Gorman.
