ROUNDUP: Morgan helps Panthers clinch Northwest title

Moses Morgan racked up 39 points and 12 rebounds Tuesday to help Palo Verde’s boys basketball team clinch the outright Northwest League title with a 77-72 home victory over Arbor View.

Andrew Topham added 12 points and nine rebounds for the Panthers, who took a 22-11 first-quarter lead.

Darington Banks led the Aggies with 27 points. Maiscei Grier scored 17 points and Brian Vignaud added 11 for Arbor View.

Cheyenne 70, Legacy 54 — At Cheyenne, Chris McCall scored 14 points, and the Desert Shields went on a 26-9 third-quarter run to put away the Longhorns.

Khalid Banks and Jaylen Henry each scored 13 points, and Xavian Johnson and Brian Organ had 10 points apiece for Cheyenne.

Sam Johnson paced Legacy with 17 points, and teammate Sian Laine contributed 14.

Cimarron-Memorial 84, Mojave 65 — At Mojave, Kevin Olekaibe had 45 points as the Spartans cruised past the Rattlers.

Christian Brown added 11 points and Leonard Bermudez scored 10 for Cimarron.

Marquise Strickland led Mojave with 16 points.

Shadow Ridge 74, Faith Lutheran 65 — At Faith Lutheran, Zach Hafen tallied 19 points, and Josh Youngblood scored 17 as the Mustangs beat the Crusaders.

Joseph Pearson added 12 points for Shadow Ridge.

Wade Norman led Faith Lutheran with 17 points. Brett Lubbe scored 13, and Sam Done and James Hammer each added 11 for the Crusaders.

Coronado 89, Tech 51 — At Coronado, Austin Nelson scored 13 of his 28 points in the third quarter and had 11 assists to lead the Cougars past Tech.

Kyle Johnson and Brandon Glanz each scored 11 points, and Glanz added 10 rebounds for Coronado, which used a 30-14 burst in the second quarter to open a 48-28 halftime lead.

Michael Johnson scored 13 points and Ben Seibert added 10 points for the Roadrunners.

Del Sol 58, Green Valley 55 — At Green Valley, Jeff Coon scored 28 points, and the visiting Dragons rallied from a 29-25 halftime deficit to creep past the Gators.

David Day added nine points for Del Sol, which outscored Green Valley 22-16 in the fourth quarter.

The Gators got 18 points from Glenn Bewley and 10 from Austin Tebbs.

Foothill 68, Basic 56 — At Basic, Evan Roquemore scored 12 points during a game-clinching 22-3 fourth-quarter run as the Falcons rallied past the Wolves.

Roquemore finished with 20 points, and Chris Clementi scored 15 for Foothill, which sank 15 of 17 free throws.

Vince Carducci had 21 points and five assists, and Tyler Dobbins supplied 10 points for the Wolves.

Silverado 67, Liberty 52 — At Silverado, Dwayne Marshall scored 22 points, and the Skyhawks used a 19-7 second-quarter run to take control against the Patriots.

Ruben Jackson had 20 points and Nick Allen added 10 for the Skyhawks.

Aaron Navitsky led Liberty with 14 points. Gio Shelton scored 13 points and Ashante Ross had 11 for the Patriots.

Chaparral 65, Eldorado 61 — At Eldorado, Zach Kirschbaum tallied 19 points, including two free throws late in the game, to help the Cowboys hold off the Sundevils.

Bre Onta Griffin had 16 points, and Jermaine Neal added 13 for Chaparral.

Curtis Stewart led all scorers with 26 points and Daquan Thrower added 13 for Eldorado.

Valley 73, Sunrise Mountain 63 — At Valley, Adalberto Garcia had 21 points and eight rebounds, and the Vikings broke out to a 23-10 first-quarter lead en route to the win.

Angelo Coleman and Christian Kessee each added 15 points for Valley.

Matt Marshall paced the Miners with 27 points. Fharhaad Zinnamon added 13 points for Sunrise Mountain.

Canyon Springs 82, Las Vegas 68 — At Las Vegas High, Jeremy Alexander scored 11 points during the fourth quarter as Canyon Springs rallied past the Wildcats.

Las Vegas held a five-point lead with six minutes to go, but fell victim to the Pioneers’ full-court press.

Adrian Snow led Canyon Springs with 21 points. Alexander scored 15, Michael Thompson added 12 and Jared Brandon and Trey Evans each supplied 11.

Hasaan Henderson led the Wildcats with 23 points. Tyree Anderson registered 15 points for Las Vegas.

Virgin Valley 61, Henderson International 23 — At Mesquite, Jason Wittwer had 14 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and five steals to lead the Bulldogs past the Wolverines.

Austin Cloes and Beau Cloes each scored 10 points for Virgin Valley, which used a 21-2 second-quarter run to take a 29-11 halftime advantage.

Lake Mead 75, Moapa Valley 68 — At Lake Mead, De’Quan Thompson had 25 points and seven assists, and Landon Littlefield supplied 21 points and 10 assists as the Eagles defeated the Pirates.

Drew Erickson added 11 points and Spencer Kowis pulled down 10 rebounds for Lake Mead.

James Frehner led Moapa Valley with 17 points. Matt Vallet scored 13 points, Hayden Cooper added 11 and Casen Lewis supplied 10 for the Pirates.

Agassi Prep 71, Needles 56 — At Needles, Calif., LeShaun Sims scored 20 points to lead the Stars by the Mustangs.

Dimitri Amos added 18 points, and Devin Bailey scored 14 for Agassi Prep, which outscored Needles 29-11 in the fourth quarter.

Michael Hills paced Needles with 18 points. Anthony Ramos added 13 points, and Andrew Hooper contributed 10 for the Mustangs.

The Meadows 55, Mountain View 43 — At Mountain View, Max Newman, Garrett Gosse and Austin Brown each scored 13 points, and the Mustangs used a 19-9 third-quarter burst to march past the Saints.

Dylan Lee added 12 points for The Meadows.

Justyn Anderson led Mountain View with 22 points, and teammate Karl Benjamin added 12 rebounds.

Indian Springs 51, Sandy Valley 32 — At Sandy Valley, Adam Reinke scored 18 points to lead the Thunderbirds past the Sidewinders.

Chasen Malden added 13 points, and Brock Roadhouse scored 11 for Indian Springs, which led 28-11 at halftime.

Nathan Plaza led Sandy Valley with 11 points.

Pahranagat Valley 86, Lund 48 — At Alamo, Tyler Higbee scored 15 points to lead the Panthers to an easy win over the Mustangs.

Kade Wadsworth (14), Chase Hansen (13), Derek Hansen (12) and Cody Hosier (11) also scored in double figures for Pahranagat Valley.

Jarett Gubler led Lund with 18 points. Skyler Madsen had 11 for the Mustangs.

Round Mountain 57, Tonopah 51 — At Tonopah, the Knights made free throws down the stretch to edge the Muckers.
