ROUNDUP: Morgan, Kirschbaum lead Chaparral boys in overpowering Desert Pines

Kevin Morgan and Zach Kirschbaum each tallied 15 points Thursday, and Chaparral’s boys basketball team held host Desert Pines scoreless in the third quarter en route to a 55-45 win.
Aubrey Ferguson added 13 points for the Cowboys, who outscored the Jaguars, 15-0 in the third quarter.
Najee McIver led Desert Pines with 14 points.
Canyon Springs 96, Sunrise Mountain 48 — At Canyon Springs, Jared Brandon led six double-figure scorers with 17 points as the Pioneers rolled the Miners.
Chris Willis added 14 points, and Michael Thompson, Donald Anderson and Jamaal Martin scored 12 points apiece for Canyon Springs, which got 10 points from Cliff Smith-Finks.
Shmarlio Tolliver scored a game-high 26 points for Sunrise Mountain.
Eldorado 83, Rancho 61 — At Eldorado, D. J. Billingsley scored 15 as the Sundevils pulled away from the Rams in the second half.
Curtis Stewart and DaQuan Thrower each added 14 points, and Julian Curtis scored 12 for Eldorado, which got 11 points from Markeith Floyd.
Chris Beverly had 14 points to pace the Rams, who trailed only 35-30 at the half.
Laughlin 55, Calvary Chapel 40 — At Laughlin, Kris Suhr racked up 14 points and 16 rebounds to help the Cougars top the Lions.
Nick Todd and Andre Prosise each scored 16 points for Laughlin, with Todd adding seven assists.
Bobby Buist scored 12 points, and Joey Peterson tallied 11 points for Calvary Chapel.
