ROUNDUP: Saunders helps Desert Pines boys hold off Las Vegas

Leon Saunders had 20 points and 10 rebounds Tuesday as Desert Pines’ boys basketball team built an early lead and held off a late rally for a 71-68 win over visiting Las Vegas High.
Najee McIver scored 12 of his 20 points in the first quarter for the Jaguars, who led 31-15 after one quarter. Joshua Velarde added 16 points for Desert Pines.
Hasaan Henderson led Las Vegas with 15 points. Phil Dunigan scored 13, and Travon Langston and Aziz Leeks each had 11 points for the Wildcats.
Rancho 48, Chaparral 44 — At Rancho, Chris Hall scored 21 points to lead the Rams past the Cowboys.
Ciaran Subira added 13 points for Rancho, which outscored Chaparral 18-11 in the third quarter to take a 34-29 lead.
Zach Kirschbaum led Chaparral with 23 points.
Eldorado 87, Sunrise Mountain 50 — At Sunrise Mountain, DaQuan Thrower scored 20 points to help the Sundevils cruise past the Miners.
Curtis Stewart had 13 points, Julian Jacobs added 12 points, and D.J. Billingsly scored 11 for Eldorado, which stormed out to a 48-29 halftime lead.
Jalal Hall paced Sunrise Mountain with 14 points. Ariel Baggett chipped in 11, and Charles Manning had nine points and 21 rebounds for the Miners.
Basic 49, Del Sol 48 — At Del Sol, Jaylen Rose had 13 points, and the Wolves overcame an early 19-10 deficit to down the Dragons.
Vince Carducci added 12 points, and DeVonte Boyd scored 11 for Basic, which limited Del Sol to three second-quarter points.
Tareg Omer paced Del Sol with 10 points.
Foothill 61, Liberty 43 — At Liberty, Dakota Yamka had 12 points, and Elijah Smith scored 11 to lead the Falcons to an easy victory over the Patriots.
Aaron Navitsky led Liberty with 13 points.
Green Valley 77, Tech 31 — At Green Valley, Earl Thompson had 15 points and 14 rebounds, and the Gators outscored Tech 45-14 in the middle two quarters on the way to the win.
Thomas Allison added 19 points for the Gators, who had 12 players score at least two points.
Manny Gonzalez led Tech with 16 points.
Coronado 59, Silverado 51 — At Silverado, Jared Culbert supplied 10 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Cougars past the Skyhawks.
Kyle Johnson scored 17 points, and Austin Nelson added 13 points for Coronado.
Alex Paula scored 12 points, and Bryan Marberry contributed eight points and 10 rebounds for Silverado.
Needles 89, Mountain View 61 — At Needles, Calif., Aaron Burns scored 25 points as the Mustangs pulled away from the Saints.
Michael Hills added 16 points, Lewis Larrabee scored 12, and Daric Courtwright tallied 10 points for Needles.
Justyn Anderson paced the Saints with 24 points. Trevor Van Kempen scored 16 for Mountain View.
Laughlin 52, Indian Springs 35 — At Laughlin, Andre Prosise had 17 points and six steals as the Cougars downed the Thunderbirds.
Kris Suhr added nine points and 13 rebounds for Laughlin.
Dominic Morgando paced Indians Springs with 16 points. Chasen Malden and Brock Roadhouse each had eight points for Indian Springs.
The Meadows 82, Beatty 49 — At The Meadows, Garrett Gosse had 19 points, and the Mustangs used a 23-0 run in the third quarter to pull away from the Hornets.
Max Newman added 13 points, and Brandon Rufty and Eric Hirsberg each scored 11 for The Meadows.
Ramiro Hernandez and Anthony Turner each had 11 points for Beatty.
Pahranagat Valley 59, White Pine 47 — At Alamo, Cody Hosier scored 26 points as the Panthers downed the Bobcats.
Kale Leavitt and Tyler Higbee each scored nine points for Pahranagat Valley, which pulled away with a 20-9 edge in the third quarter.
Jacob Henze led White Pine with 13 points, and Levi Valdez scored 11 for the Bobcats.
Adelson School 44, Sandy Valley 40 — At Adelson, Mendy Berrebi hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 24 seconds to go to help the Lions top the Sidewinders.
Gabriel Bornstein paced Adelson with 17 points, and Jackson Wessells added 10 points.
Nathan Plaza led Sandy Valley with 15 points.
Spring Mountain 77, Word of Life 37 — At Saville Middle School, Devante Rash had 10 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Eagles to the win.
Shaquon Jones and Tovalier Doss each scored 10 points for Spring Mountain, which led 21-7 after the first quarter.
