ROUNDUP: Spring Mountain boys stay perfect in league play

Roemello Brandon had 12 points and 17 rebounds Saturday as Spring Mountain’s boys basketball team improved to 6-0 in the Class 1A Southern League with a 60-35 win at Tonopah.

Marquion White had 23 points, and Ta’moshea Edwards scored 11 for the Eagles, who stayed on track for a showdown for first place against Pahranagat Valley (4-0) on Tuesday.

Derek Otero led the Muckers with 10 points.

Pahranagat Valley 82, Round Mountain 59 — At Round Mountain, Chase Hansen had 22 points, and Tyler Higbee scored 21 to lead the Panthers past the Knights.

Kade Wadsworth had 14 points, and Derek Hansen scored 11 for Pahranagat Valley, which led 40-25 at halftime.

Serjio Chavez led Round Mountain with 18 points, and Mitchell Doheney and Carlos Chavez added 15 points each for the Knights.

Needles 75, Lake Mead 50 — At Lake Mead, Michael Hills poured in 26 points, and the Mustangs outscored the Eagles 46-24 in the second half to pull away.

Aaron Burns added 22 points, and John Ochoa scored 12 for Needles.

Justin Yamzon paced Lake Mead with 24 points.

The Meadows 67, Laughlin 33 — At Laughlin, Garrett Gosse scored 22 points to lead the Mustangs by the Cougars.

Max Newman added 10 points for The Meadows, which raced to a 35-13 halftime lead.

Colton Hill paced Laughlin with 14 points.

GIRLS

Needles 60, Lake Mead 29 — At Lake Mead, Abby Chandler had 13 points, and the Mustangs got points from 11 different players in a rout of the Eagles.

Lisa Hills added 12 points for Needles.

Taylor Badua-Kono had 16 points for Lake Mead.

Mountain View 59, Agassi Prep 39 — At Agassi Prep, Briana Marruffo had 24 points and five assists to lead the Saints past the Stars.

Marruffo was 16 of 20 from the free-throw line, and Kiley Murphy scored 18 points for Mountain View, which got eight rebounds from Alley Cintron.

Javoluee Green led Agassi Prep with 13 points.

The Meadows 30, Laughlin 28 — At Laughlin, Melaney Mayes scored nine points, and the Mustangs rallied from a 25-19 deficit after three quarters to edge the Cougars.

Ruby Mackey had 10 points to lead Laughlin, which missed a pair of potential game-tying shots in the closing seconds.
