Williams-Goss, Kabongo lead Findlay Prep to easy victory
Nigel Williams-Goss and Myck Kabongo scored 14 points each to lead the Findlay Prep basketball team to a 77-40 win over West Orange (Fla.) in the quarterfinals of the Montverde (Fla.) Academy Invitational Tournament on Thursday.
Williams-Goss, a sophomore guard who has committed to UNLV, added four assists and four rebounds for the Pilots (22-2).
Amir Garrett, a senior forward who has signed with St. John’s, had eight points, nine rebounds and five assists for Findlay Prep, and teammate Winston Shepard supplied nine points and four steals.
Dewayne Gallimore led West Orange (17-6) with 14 points.
The Pilots, who are ranked No. 8 in the nation by USA Today, advanced to meet Orlando Christian Prep (17-3) in the semifinals at 3:20 p.m. today. The title game is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
