GIRLS BASKETBALL: Barnard scores 31 as Bulldogs top Cowboys

Abbie Barnard scored 31 points Monday to lead Virgin Valley’s girls basketball team to a 72-51 win over visiting Chaparral.

Bernice Fiso added 12 points and eight rebounds, and Kourtney Metzger scored 12 for the Bulldogs.

Abigail Delgado led the Cowboys with 19 points, and teammate Marcia Hawkins had 12 points.

Bonanza 49, Pahrump Valley 31 — At Pahrump, Tanganika Hunt and Brooklyn Savage each scored 11 points to help the Bengals beat the Trojans.

Chardonnay Martin-Roberson added 10 points for Bonanza.

Shayla Dance led Pahrump with 12 points and nine rebounds. Alyssa Murphy had 11 points, and Amber Skilling grabbed 11 rebounds for the Trojans.

Boulder City 54, Desert Pines 23 — At Desert Pines, Whitney Barlow led all scorers with 15 points as the Eagles routed the Jaguars.

Alyssa Ybarra added 11 points for Boulder City.

Chrystian Myles led Desert Pines with 10 points.

Sunrise Mountain 53, Tech 13 — At Sunrise Mountain, Brittany Veal had 22 points as the Miners blitzed the Roadrunners.

Tyrah Lee added six points, eight rebounds, five steals and seven blocked shots for Sunrise Mountain.

Haylee Holsclaw scored six points for Tech.

4A/3A girls state roundup: Legacy, Canyon Springs ousted

Legacy and Canyon Springs couldn’t keep up in the Class 4A girls basketball state semifinals. The Southern Region representatives in 3A also were eliminated.
