ROUNDUP: Harless, Foothill girls nip Liberty to secure Southeast title

Julie Harless tallied 15 points Wednesday to help Foothill’s girls basketball team clinch the outright Southeast League title with a 51-49 win at Liberty.

Bri Higgins added eight points for the Falcons, who won despite making 17 of 32 free throws.

Chanel Nacua led Liberty with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Alena Evans and Sydney Clark each added 11 points, and Alyx Stiff grabbed 10 rebounds for the Patriots.

Coronado 56, Silverado 45 — At Silverado, Sofie Cruz had 22 points as the Cougars topped the Skyhawks.

Kealy Brown added 16 points for Coronado.

Jasmyn Garcia scored 16 points to lead Silverado, and teammate Sierra Hester added 11 points.

Centennial 51, Cheyenne 7 — At Cheyenne, Jada Brown scored 12 points, and Teirra Hicks added 10 as the Bulldogs routed the Desert Shields and clinched the outright Northwest League title.

Paige Barber and Breanna Workman supplied six points apiece for Centennial, which led 51-5 at the half and opted not to score in the final 16 minutes.

Brea Thompson scored all seven of Cheyenne’s points.

Faith Lutheran 77, Arbor View 75 — At Faith Lutheran, Kelsey McCourt scored 23 points, including a 3-pointer to send the game into double overtime as the Crusaders edged the Aggies.

McCourt also scored the go-ahead basket in the second overtime. Samantha Leonard had 18 points and Julia Benko 10 for Fatih Lutheran, which trailed by 10 points in the fourth quarter.

Dani Chaney had 30 points to pace Arbor View, which got 15 points from Jena Valenzuela and 13 points from Dana Lewis.

Bishop Gorman 60, Clark 19 — At Gorman, Zhane Dikes scored 14 points, and Julia Ewalefo added eight points and nine rebounds, helping the Gaels easily handle the Chargers and clinch the outright Southwest League title.

April Rivers scored 10 points and Meghan Carter eight for Gorman, which sprinted to a 35-4 halftime lead.

Bobbi Floyd led Clark with nine points.

Shadow Ridge 58, Mojave 16 — At Mojave, Rayven Thomas scored 22 points to lead the Mustangs to an easy win over the Rattlers.

Dana Christensen added 14 points for Shadow Ridge, which ran to a 30-8 halftime lead and held Mojave to single digits in each quarter.

Celeste Manumaleuna scored 12 points for Mojave.

Durango 49, Bonanza 41 — At Durango, Darea’l Thomas had 14 points, 13 rebounds and four assists, and the Trailblazers rallied from a 36-32 third-quarter deficit to top the Bengals.

Jasmine Thomas added 10 points for Durango.

Alyssa Powers led Bonanza with 18 points, and teammate Tanganika Hunt scored 10.

Spring Valley 50, Western 47 — At Spring Valley, Savannah Smith scored 11 of her 14 points in the second half and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Grizzlies rallied from a 36-28 deficit after three quarters to nip the Warriors.

Jana Espiritu added 11 points, and DeTiese Moore had nine rebounds for Spring Valley, which made 8 of 11 free throws in the second half.

Brittany Moreland led Western with 17 points, and teammate Jocelyn Jordan scored 12.

Desert Oasis 56, Pahrump Valley 8 — At Desert Oasis, Auburn Smith scored 13 points as the Diamondbacks routed the Trojans.

Tatiana Kearn added nine points for Desert Oasis, which led 40-3 at the half.

Green Valley 60, Tech 26 — At Tech, Jill Harland scored 13 points as the Gators ran past the Roadrunners.

Kristena Wilson led Tech with eight points.

Basic 57, Del Sol 41 — At Del Sol, Kailai Brantner had 17 points to help the Wolves top the Dragons.

Dana Deloney added 12 points, and Kelsey Gunther scored 10 for Basic.

Melissa DeSantiago paced Del Sol with 12 points.
