ROUNDUP: McNeal helps Pioneer girls tie up Northeast title
Shamaiyah McNeal scored 13 points Tuesday to help Canyon Springs’ girls basketball team clinch the outright Northeast League title with a 58-49 home win over Valley.
Mandy Chitwood had 12 points, and Kiara Washington supplied 11 points for the Pioneers, who led 34-27 at halftime.
Valley’s Tyricia Payne scored 18 points. Kennedy Wharton added 13 points, and Gabby Cabanero 10 for the Vikings.
Las Vegas 61, Desert Pines 44 — At Desert Pines, Shomari Harris scored 26 points in leading the Wildcats to a win over the Jaguars.
Shaleea Butler had 15 points, and Matti Ventling 12 for Las Vegas, which used a 22-9 third-quarter run to pull away.
Kiana Alexander had 18 points, and Leslie White scored 11 for Desert Pines.
Rancho 46, Chaparral 35 — At Rancho, Kanosha Grey scored 19 points as the Rams moved past the Cowboys.
Unique Wilson led Chaparral with 12 points.
Sunrise Mountain 43, Eldorado 36 — At Sunrise Mountain, Da’Nisha Wedlow had 17 points and eight rebounds as the Miners outlasted the Sundevils.
Allyah Swain lead Eldorado with 16 points, and teammate Deniseun Jackson added 10 points.
Boulder City 60, Moapa Valley 39 — At Overton, Mallory Bird led four double-figure scorers with 14 points, and the Eagles used a 16-0 third-quarter run to tame the Pirates.
Taylor McKeever had 13 points, and Jeanette McQuillan scored 11 for Boulder City, which got 10 points from Katlyn Daly.
Hannah Leavitt and Chanel LaCroix each had nine points, and Malary Reid grabbed 13 rebounds for Moapa Valley.
Lake Mead 49, Mountain View 46 — At Mountain View, Taylor Badua-Kono scored 19 points as the Eagles rallied to edge the Saints.
Colleen Zumeran added 13 points for Lake Mead, which trailed by two entering the fourth quarter and outscored Mountain View 15-10.
The Eagles shot 20 of 27 from the free-throw line, compared to Mountain View’s 11 of 25.
Briana Marruffo led the Saints with 23 points.
Calvary Chapel 43, The Meadows 21 — At The Meadows, Phallen Nelson tallied 19 points, and Deja Harris scored 11 as the Lions downed the Mustangs.
Melissa Siegel paced The Meadows with seven points.
Laughlin 59, Agassi Prep 53 — At Agassi Prep, Paty Valdez scored 18 points, and teammates Brooke Lee and Ruby Mackey each added 14 points as the Cougars nipped the Stars.
Laughlin led at halftime 30-18, and trailed 53-51 in the fourth quarter before scoring the final eight points.
Javoulaee Green posted 18 points to lead Agassi Prep, which got 16 points from Noelle Chavis and 10 points from Kareema Webb.
Tonopah 53, Round Mountain 31 — At Tonopah, Elise Salsbury had 10 points to help the Muckers down the Knights.
Morgan Manley led Round Mountain with 11 points.
Pahranagat Valley 45, Lund 14 — At Alamo, Bailee Hosier had 17 points and four steals as the Panthers routed the Mustangs and secured the No. 1 seed for the Class 1A Southern League tournament.
Kimberley Lewis added eight points and nine rebounds for the Panthers.
