Kavon Williams scored a game-high 16 points to help Cheyenne’s boys basketball team upset visiting Desert Pines, 56-52 on Tuesday.
Adrianna Jones dropped in a game-high 21 points, and Western’s girls basketball team held on for a 51-48 victory over visiting Mojave on Tuesday.
Spring Valley allowed a 25-2 run over the third and fourth quarters and paid for it with a 63-38 loss to Dimond (Alaska) in the quarterfinals of the Gator Winter Classic Diamond Bracket at Green Valley.
Dre’una Edwards finished with 23 points and seven rebounds, and Liberty rolled to a 66-18 victory over Galena on Wednesday to finish atop Pool A at the Gator Winter Classic at Green Valley.
Foothill backed off its full-court press late in the first quarter Tuesday and held Durango to two field goals the rest of the way in a 58-20 victory during pool play in the Gator Winter Classic at Green Valley.
