Cheyenne runs away from Western

Cheyenne's football team racked up 496 rushing yards Friday on its way to a 62-12 win at Western.

Jordan Johnson had 144 rushing yards, and Corwin Bush added 139 yards, including an 81-yard touchdown run, for the Desert Shields (1-4, 1-0 Sunset League). Kamareeon Counts had 127 rushing yards, including an 85-yard scoring run for Cheyenne, which trailed 6-0 seconds after receiving the opening kickoff.

Western's Qway Walker ripped the ball away from a Cheyenne return man on the kickoff and raced 38 yards as Western took its only lead, 6-0. Walker had 119 all-purpose yards for Western (0-5).
