The prep football season is winding down, and for the Division I-A teams, this is the final week of the regular season.
We’ve reached the unofficial halfway point of the prep football season, and I’m ready to hand out the Fieldies. My midseason awards usually include a free lunch and a T-shirt for the winners, but I’m saving money for a new pair of Jordans, so no dice this year.
If you saw me at school this week, you probably noticed the huge smile on my face and the extra bounce in my step. No, I didn’t get a date for homecoming yet, but I’m still feeling quite chipper. That’s what happens when you correctly predict seven out of eight prep football games like I did last week.
This is a celebration of great things in small packages, an ode to jockeys, half-popped popcorn kernels and Division I-A.
