Palo Verde rushed for 517 yards and five touchdowns on Friday as the Panthers earned their first win with a 40-13 victory over visiting Cimarron-Memorial.
Sure enough, league play in the Class 4A Sunset Region and Class 3A starts this week, the true indicator that summer is done. Even Bishop Gorman is taking a break from irking out-of-state fanbases to play a Southwest League contest against Bonanza. (I didn’t include that game in my picks, but, spoiler alert, Gorman is going to win.)
The unofficial Clark County School District football title game takes place when Desert Pines visits six-time defending Sunrise Region champion Liberty at 7 p.m. Thursday.
