Quarterback play, crafty kicking helps Clark rout Western

Isiah Bigby threw four touchdowns, and Clark’s football team benefited from some fortunate kickoffs to beat Western 38-6 on Friday.
Bigby lead the Chargers (1-0) on a 65-yard scoring drive in the first quarter, concluding with a 27-yard pass to Semaj Taylor. Clark then recovered the ensuing kickoff after the squib kick hit a Western player.
Bigby and Marlon Kinnard helped move the Chargers down the field, finishing the drive just before the end of the quarter with an 8-yard touchdown pass from Bigby to A.J. Fagan that gave Clark a 12-0 lead.
Western (0-2) made its way back into the game early in the second quarter, with Kwan Carter going through the Chargers defense for a 30-yard TD run.
Clark had a quick answer, following a kick return into Western territory, with Kinnard going in from 7 yards away to put the Chargers on top 18-6 with 9:03 to play in the half.
The Chargers turned it on in the second half, recovering the opening kickoff on another squib kick. DeAndre Smothers capped the drive with a 10-yard TD reception from Bigby to give Clark a 24-6 lead with 7:51 to go in the third quarter.
Fagan caught his second TD pass with 5:40 to go in the third, this one from 13 yards out, before Aquantay Morris closed the scoring for the Chargers later in the quarter on a 17-yard touchdown pass from Justin Aguilar.
Carter finished with 58 yards passing and 46 rushing to lead Western.
