The Meadows' football team earned a win Tuesday without ever stepping onto the field.
The Mustangs collected a win when the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association ruled the team's Oct. 2 game at White Pine was a forfeit.
White Pine attempted to postpone the game because of illnesses to players on the Bobcats' team.
Given that teams can't play more than one football game per week and that the Class 2A playoffs begin the week after the regular season, there was no possible makeup date.
As a result of the forfeit, the Mustangs improved to 6-0 in the Class 2A Southern League and secured the No. 1 seed for the league playoffs. Mountain View will be the No. 2 seed and Lincoln County the No. 3.
White Pine fell to 2-4 and into a three-way tie for fifth place with Agassi Prep and Calvary Chapel. All three teams are one game behind Needles for the final postseason spot.
The Bobcats also postponed volleyball matches and a boys soccer match, scheduled for the weekend of Oct. 2, against The Meadows. Those will be made up on or before Nov. 3.
