Top-ranked Gaels rout Trojans
Top-ranked Bishop Gorman (7-1, 5-0 Southwest) scored on its six first-quarter possessions for a 41-0 lead on the way to a 69-0 road victory over Pahrump Valley (1-5, 1-4) on Thursday.
The Gaels opened the scoring with a 45-yard TD pass from Jarrett Solomon to Ryan Smith, and Solomon added an 11-yard TD pass to Jamir Tillman. Shaquille Powell had TD runs of 55 and 53 yards, Lorenzo Fertitta scored on a 9-yard run, and Nathan Starks scored on a 30-yard run.
Tajon Allen added two 8-yard TD runs, and the game was played with a running clock from the 9:22 mark in the second quarter.
Pahrump lost three fumbles and was intercepted in the first half. The Trojans got into Gorman territory once before turning the ball over on downs.
