SOCCER: Perkins leads Spring Valley’s boys over Faith Lutheran

Tyson Perkins scored two goals Wednesday to help Spring Valley’s boys soccer team to a 3-1 win over visiting Faith Lutheran.

Dennis Tayou added a goal for the Grizzlies.

Chase Carey scored for the Crusaders.

Clark 2, Cheyenne 0 — At Clark, David Ginsburg had a goal and an assist to help the Chargers blank the Desert Shields.

Oscar Mata added a goal for Clark, which got a shutout from goalkeeper Ramon Ramirez.

Western 3, Sierra Vista 2 — At Sierra Vista, Martin Vazquez scored the game-winning goal with 10 minutes to play as the Warriors edged the Mountain Lions.

Bruno Aleman and Ramon Perez each had a goal for Western.

Luis Vazquez supplied a goal and an assist for Sierra Vista, which got a goal from Adam Dumo.

Mojave 8, Pahrump Valley 4 — At Mojave, Cristopher Pulido had three goals and two assists to lead the Rattlers by the Trojans.

Eddie Luna had two goals and an assist, and Antonio Perez had a goal and two assists for Mojave. Bryan Alvarez added a goal and an assist, and Saul Godoy also scored for the Rattlers.

Adrian Maldonado had two goals and an assist for Pahrump, which also got goals from Jose Nunez and Christian Aguilar.

GIRLS

Cheyenne 2, Clark 1 — At Cheyenne, Lesly Rodriguez scored a second-half goal to break a 1-1 tie as the Desert Shields edged the Chargers.

Karla Rodriguez also scored for Cheyenne.

Maria Zuniga scored for Clark.

Sierra Vista 8, Western 0 — At Western, Sophia Omidiji had five goals and an assist to lead the Mountain Lions by the Warriors.

Claudia Reyes and Jasmine Morice each added a goal and an assist for Sierra Vista, which also got a goal from Alexia Cabral.

Jayla Olson made four saves en route to the shutout.

Pahrump Valley 8, Mojave 0 — At Pahrump, Sydney Dennis supplied three goals and three assists, and teammate Paige Chafee added two goals to propel the Trojans over the Rattlers.

Winter Young, Yesenia Garcia and Brittany Klenzcar each had a goal for Pahrump.

Terryn Thomas was in goal for the shutout.
