SOCCER: Second-half outburst helps Clark boys top Sierra Vista

Jose Martinez had two goals and an assist, and Clark’s boys soccer team erupted for five second-half goals Monday to post a 6-1 win over visiting Sierra Vista.

Oscar Mata scored twice, and Jose Puentes and David Ginsburg each added a goal for the Chargers, who got two assists from Ivan Lopez.

Zekarias Kassaye scored for the Mountain Lions.

Del Sol 5, Basic 2 — At Basic, Diego Nieves scored four goals to lead the Dragons by the Wolves.

Johan Rodriguez added a goal, and Jason Garza had two assists for Del Sol.

Ismael Carranza scored twice for Basic.

Western 5, Spring Valley 1 — At Western, Ricardo Gonzalez scored three goals to power the Warriors over the Grizzlies.

Martin Vasquez and Eduardo Arellano also scored for Western, which got two assists from Sergio Anaya.

Tyson Perkins netted Spring Valley’s goal.

Adelson School 6, Pahrump Valley JV 2 — At Pahrump, Nevo Ziv had three goals and two assists to lift the Lions past Pahrump’s junior varsity.

Oscar Chaltiel scored twice for Adelson.

Mojave at Cheyenne — The Mojave at Cheyenne match was postponed because of unplayable field conditions following Monday’s rain. A reschedule date has not been announced.

GIRLS

Clark 3, Sierra Vista 2 — At Sierra Vista, Ariana Reyes scored two goals to help the Chargers nip the Mountain Lions.

Darian Gambetta added a goal and an assist for Clark.

Sophia Omidiji scored both of Sierra Vista’s goals.

Green Valley 4, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Green Valley, Alexis Kirson scored three goals to lead the Gators by the Spartans.

Talia Lopez also scored for Green Valley.

Ryan Sabol made nine saves to get the shutout.

Cheyenne 5, Mojave 1 — At Mojave, Lesly Rodriguez scored three goals to lift the Desert Shields over the Rattlers.

Amairani Gomez had two goals and an assist, and Girly Tambeagbor added two assists for Cheyenne.

Kylie Sharboro scored for Mojave.

Western at Spring Valley — The Western at Spring Valley match was postponed because of rain. A reschedule date has not been announced.
