GIRLS SOCCER: Rendon’s second-half goal gives Chargers No. 3 seed in playoffs

Vanessa Rendon’s second-half goal Thursday helped Clark’s girls soccer team earn the Sunset League’s No. 3 seed for the Division I-A Southern Region playoffs with a 1-1 tie against visiting Spring Valley.

Sahana Bojorquez’s goal spotted the Grizzlies a 1-0 lead before the Chargers got the equalizer.

The tie enabled Spring Valley to earn the league’s No. 4 seed for the playoffs.

Faith Lutheran 1, Pahrump Valley 0 — At Pahrump, Megan Sonerholm’s goal with 25 minutes left in the match lifted the Crusaders by the Trojans.

Beka Lescenski made 11 saves to earn the shutout.

Sierra Vista 0, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, the Mountain Lions and Rattlers played to a scoreless tie.

Sierra Vista’s Jayla Olson and Mojave’s Vanessa Rojas recorded the shutouts. Olson made three saves, and Rojas stopped 10 shots.

Silverado 2, Liberty 0 — At Silverado, Victoria Sanchez and Nicole Wertzler each had a goal to lead the Skyhawks by the Patriots.

Mikaila Becze was in goal for the shutout.

Virgin Valley 2, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Mesquite, Abbie Barnum scored once in each half as the Bulldogs secured the Sunrise League’s No. 2 seed by blanking the Miners.

Spencer Green made six saves to earn the shutout.

Las Vegas 4, Canyon Springs 0 — At Las Vegas, Ashlee Jordan had three goals and an assist to lead the Wildcats past the Pioneers.

Kara Bowden added a goal and an assist for Las Vegas, and teammate Briana Alarcon made three saves to earn the shutout.

Centennial 4, Cimarron-Memorial 1 — At Centennial, McKenna Stratton had two goals and an assist to lift the Bulldogs by the Spartans.

Emilee Bohls added a goal and an assist, and Shelby Riddle scored for the Bulldogs.

Natasha Martin scored for Cimarron.

Arbor View 6, Bonanza 0 — At Arbor View, Vanessa Lourenco had a goal and two assists to pace the Aggies to a win over the Bengals.

Sierra Vicente, Breanna Larkin, Jessica Longhurst, Asianna Harris and Haley Vicente all scored for Arbor View.

Haylee Niemann tallied four saves and got the shutout for the Aggies.
