Arbor View

State champions for the 2015 fall season

Here is a recap of every team that won a state title during the 2015 fall sports season and will be looking to defend this upcoming season.

NOTES: Desert Pines linebacker Fields tackles recruiting with gusto

Tony Fields, a 6-foot-2-inch, 205-pound linebacker, has been one of the area’s most heavily recruited players this spring. He has 19 scholarship offers — Northwestern was the most recent on April 30 — and his family has racked up plenty of hotel points over the past month and a half making unofficial visits on the weekends.

RECRUITING: Arbor View’s Jones, Sims to team up again at Southern Utah

Lost in the excitement last week of Rancho snapping its 30-game losing streak — for the record, that won’t be the only game the Rams win this season — Sunrise Mountain quietly reached a milestone of its own under second-year coach Chris Sawyers.

NOTES: Several locals on the move during spring recruiting

The spring combine season is in full swing, and that means prep football players across the country are trying to impress college coaches without actually putting on pads and helmets.
