BASEBALL: Jack Wold, Basic walk off with win

Jack Wold singled off the right-field fence with one out in the bottom of the seventh to score Christian Rivero and lift Basic’s baseball team to a 3-2 home victory over Las Vegas on Wednesday.

SOFTBALL: Faith Lutheran tops Desert Oasis for title

Sophie Foster went the distance and struck out eight Saturday to lead Faith Lutheran’s softball team to a 10-3 win over Desert Oasis in the championship game of the Colorado River Invitational in Needles, California.

Late kick gives Green Valley’s Omar Rubio Lake Mead Invite win

Omar Rubio led the way, as he once again edged Arbor View’s Ian Jackson at the end to win the 3.1-mile race. Rubio sprinted away in the final 300 meters to win in 16 minutes, 24.4 seconds. Jackson finished second in 16:26.9.
