WINNEMUCCA — Green Valley’s quest to win a fourth straight state wrestling title got off to a solid start on the first day of the Division I tournament Friday.
Torrance Littles finished with 29 points, and Kevin Woodland added 28 points as Foothill’s boys basketball team pulled away in the third overtime for a 103-88 victory over host Green Valley on Tuesday.
Assana King had 20 points and seven rebounds Friday to help Shadow Ridge rally for a 56-53 home win over Silverado.
Cameron Burton poured in 32 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter, to lead Valley’s boys basketball team to a 67-63 win at Foothill on Tuesday.
Justice Ethridge scored 28 points Tuesday to help Centennial’s girls basketball team down visiting Liberty, 59-53.
Sydney Land had 19 kills, and Kira Felise had 42 assists and seven digs to lead Sierra Vista’s girls volleyball team to an 18-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-17 win over host Mojave on Wednesday.
Kendall Cheval had 17 kills Tuesday to lead Palo Verde’s girls volleyball team to a 25-16, 25-17, 23-25, 25-14 victory over host Green Valley.
Palo Verde junior Noah Landers and Centennial senior Dajour Braxton have a budding cross country rivalry.
Anyah Nutter had three first-place finishes and one second-place showing Saturday to help Centennial’s boys track team win The Meadows Invitational.
