Here are the all-region and all-league girls volleyball teams, as selected by coaches.
Nicholas held off hard-charging Massimiliano Swenson of Bishop Gorman to become Desert Oasis’ first region cross country champion. The Diamondbacks also won the boys region team title, another first in school history.
Chania Scott had 12 kills to help the Mojave’s girls volleyball team clinch the Sunset League’s top seed for the Class 3A Southern Region playoffs with a 25-8, 25-10, 25-20 home sweep of Del Sol.
Kierston-Joy Kuresa had nine kills, two aces and 20 digs to propel Desert Oasis’ girls volleyball team to a 25-22, 25-21, 24-26, 23-25, 15-5 home win over Liberty on Thursday night.
Juan Ponce scored with two minutes remaining in regulation to lift Sierra Vista’s boy soccer team to a 2-1 road home win over Basic on Wednesday afternoon.
Liberty’s Hayden Prasad scored his second goal of the game with 15 minutes remaining Monday, and the visiting Patriots knocked off Bishop Gorman 2-1 in boys soccer.
Dayan Rodriguez scored a pair of second-half goals on Thursday to lead Valley’s boys soccer team to a 4-1 road victory over Del Sol.
Erik Ramos scored in the final minute Tuesday to give the Desert Oasis boys soccer team a 4-3 home win over Tech.
David Matias-Flores and Conner Barlow each had a goal as Silverado’s boys soccer team edged visiting Foothill 2-1 on Wednesday.
Claire Rawlins trailed Basic’s Raquel Chavez for much of the race, but stayed within striking distance to the end. She then raced past Chavez and held off Sierra Vista’s Sarriah Brown to win the 3.1-mile race in 19 minutes, 16 seconds.
Foothill’s Brooke Vokoun scored in the 60th minute on Thursday to give the Falcons a 2-2 tie with host Sierra Vista in girls soccer.
Britnee Leavitt went 2-0 in singles to help Moapa Valley’s girls tennis team edge visiting Virgin Valley 10-9 on a tiebreaker Tuesday.
Juan Beltran-Diaz had three goals and an assist as Clark’s boys soccer team earned a 5-2 road win over Silverado on Tuesday.
Colton Banks and Chris Jepson went 3-0 in doubles for Basic’s boys tennis team Tuesday as the Wolves downed host Silverado, 12-6.
