Centennial junior Alexis Gourrier won the Sunset regional cross country championship and helped the Bulldogs to the team title.

Coronado’s Jensen Boman had a goal and an assist Thursday to help the Cougars girls soccer team capture the Southeast League title with a 2-0 home win over Foothill.
Sure enough, league play in the Class 4A Sunset Region and Class 3A starts this week, the true indicator that summer is done. Even Bishop Gorman is taking a break from irking out-of-state fanbases to play a Southwest League contest against Bonanza. (I didn’t include that game in my picks, but, spoiler alert, Gorman is going to win.)
