Spring Valley 132-pounder Andres Garcia beat the Sunrise Region champion, the Sunset runner-up and last week’s Sunset Region champion to claim his first Class 4A state championship Friday at The Orleans Arena.
Tech’s Juan Mota scored the game’s only goal in the first half Tuesday to lead the Roadrunners to a 1-0 road win over Chaparral. The victory clinched the Class 3A Sunrise League title for the Roadrunners, their sixth in school history and first since 2012.

Sunil Subba scored the go-ahead goal in the 78th minute to help Silverado’s boys soccer team rally for a 2-1 home win over Basic on Thursday afternoon.
Gabby Anderson scored off an assist from Arianna Vigil in the 62nd minute to lift Foothill’s girls soccer team to a 2-1 home win over Green Valley on Monday afternoon.
Hunter Pate fired a 1-under-par 71 on Thursday at Spanish Trail to lead Bishop Gorman’s girls golf team to victory in a Southwest League match.
Carlos Mendez supplied a goal and two assists Tuesday as the Valley boys soccer team held off Liberty at home, 5-4.
Kelly Lemus scored the game-winning goal midway through the second half, giving host Del Sol the 1-0 win over visiting Chaparral.
Ameila McManus and Riley Divich scored goals to lift Faith Lutheran to a 2-0 home victory over Western on Thursday evening.
