Spring Valley 132-pounder Andres Garcia beat the Sunrise Region champion, the Sunset runner-up and last week’s Sunset Region champion to claim his first Class 4A state championship Friday at The Orleans Arena.
Tech’s Juan Mota scored the game’s only goal in the first half Tuesday to lead the Roadrunners to a 1-0 road win over Chaparral. The victory clinched the Class 3A Sunrise League title for the Roadrunners, their sixth in school history and first since 2012.

Juan Estrada had two goals and an assist, and the Western boys soccer team scored three times in the second half on Thursday to break a 2-2 tie and defeat host Palo Verde, 5-3.
Shayne Dunn scored twice in the first half as Bonanza’s girls soccer team earned a 2-0 road win over Durango on Thursday.
Ashley Vasquez scored the game’s only goal with 10 minutes remaining to lead Bonanza’s girls soccer team to a 1-0 home win over Sierra Vista.
Del Sol’s boys soccer team scored two goals in a four-minute span late in the second half Tuesday to earn a 2-2 home tie with the Chaparral.
Felicity Reimann made seven saves to help Foothill’s girls soccer team hold off visiting Liberty for a 1-0 win on Thursday afternoon.
Moapa Valley notched a 2-1 victory over Boulder City on Tuesday afternoon.
Gabby Anderson scored off an assist from Arianna Vigil in the 62nd minute to lift Foothill’s girls soccer team to a 2-1 home win over Green Valley on Monday afternoon.
Coronado’s girls soccer team scored three second-half goals on Thursday to rally for a 3-2 road victory over top-ranked Palo Verde.
