But Ferry wasn’t feeling so secure as his team prepared to leave the gym after Friday’s semifinal round at Spanish Springs.

Omar Rubio led the way, as he once again edged Arbor View’s Ian Jackson at the end to win the 3.1-mile race. Rubio sprinted away in the final 300 meters to win in 16 minutes, 24.4 seconds. Jackson finished second in 16:26.9.
Tayah Washington had 15 kills and 11 digs on Wednesday to lead Faith Lutheran’s girls volleyball team to a 22-25, 25-20, 23-25, 25-21, 15-8 win over visiting Legacy.
