WINNEMUCCA — Green Valley’s quest to win a fourth straight state wrestling title got off to a solid start on the first day of the Division I tournament Friday.
Sydney Berenyi had 21 kills and 14 digs Tuesday as Silverado’s girls volleyball team won the Northeast League title by downing host Las Vegas, 25-21, 25-17, 19-25, 25-20.
Sydney Land had 19 kills, and Kira Felise had 42 assists and seven digs to lead Sierra Vista’s girls volleyball team to an 18-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-17 win over host Mojave on Wednesday.
The top runners on the Centennial girls cross country team are starting to make winning look easy.
Shelby Estocado was 3-for-4 with two triples, two runs and an RBI on Tuesday to help Bishop Gorman’s softball team to a 10-0, five-inning home win over Legacy.
Ryne Nelson slugged a solo home run to highlight a six-run fifth inning, and Basic’s baseball team rallied to earn an 11-5 victory over host Coronado on Tuesday.
Zanae Jones won two individual events in the girls meet, and Ivy Dobson, Cole Jones and D.J. Williams each won two events in the boys meet as Arbor View’s track teams both took first place Friday in the Arbor View Invitational.
