WINNEMUCCA — Green Valley’s quest to win a fourth straight state wrestling title got off to a solid start on the first day of the Division I tournament Friday.
Assana King had 20 points and seven rebounds Friday to help Shadow Ridge rally for a 56-53 home win over Silverado.
Rarely does a cross country team’s sixth runner decide a team title.
Palo Verde junior Noah Landers and Centennial senior Dajour Braxton have a budding cross country rivalry.
Dillon Johnson went 3-for-4 with a double, three runs and an RBI, and Silverado’s baseball team rallied for an 8-4 victory over host Canyon Springs on Tuesday.
Mariah Ward went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs on Tuesday to help Spring Valley’s softball team to a 7-3 win at Arbor View.
Robbie Galvan went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs on Tuesday, and Shadow Ridge’s baseball team used a six-run first inning on its way to an 11-8 victory over host Durango.
