ROUNDUP: Jones nets three wins as Cimarron boys edge Mustangs

Dominic Jones won three events Monday to lead Cimarron-Memorial’s boys track team to 65½ points and a home victory over Shadow Ridge (63) and The Meadows (20½).

Jones finished first in the 100-meter dash in 10.6 seconds, claimed the 200 in 21.8 and took the long jump with a leap of 21 feet, 9½ inches.

Cimarron’s Andrew Gubler took the shot put (39-2) and discus (113-1), and Robert Thompson won the 1,600 (4:42.4) and 3,200 (10:44.6) for the Spartans.

The Meadows’ Neal Gaffin won the 110 hurdles (20.9) and 300 hurdles (51.4).

Kushner leads Diamondbacks to victory
At Desert Oasis, Mike Kushner won two events to help Desert Oasis (100 points) cruise past Calvary Chapel (41) and Western (21).
Kushner took the 1,600 in 5:13.8 and the 3,200 in 13:02.5.

Calvary Chapel’s Denzel Morris took the 100 in 11.3 and the 110 hurdles in 16.9.

Western’s Kameron Ringgold won the 400 in 52.4 and the triple jump with a mark of 40-7.

GIRLS

Mustangs sprint to tri-meet win
SieYara Wells won two events Monday to lift Shadow Ridge’s girls to 70½ points and a victory over The Meadows (53½) and host Cimarron-Memorial (49).

Wells took the 100-meter hurdles in 17.0 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 49.8.

The Meadows’ Jocelyn Parker won the 200 in 28.5 and the high jump with a mark of 4 feet, 8 inches.

Ford-Wheaten, Sydney lead Warriors to victory
At Desert Oasis, Aleya Ford-Wheaten and Pavanau Sydney won two events apiece to lift Western (74 points) past Desert Oasis (48) and Calvary Chapel (30).

Ford-Wheaten took the long jump (14-2) and triple jump (31-2½), and Sydney won the shot put (30-5) and discus (92-11).
