ROUNDUP: Mojave boys rally for first league win since 2008
James Noles had 19 assists and seven digs Monday as Mojave’s boys volleyball team rallied for a 14-25, 16-25, 25-19, 25-23, 18-16 home win over Cheyenne.
DeMarge Boyd added 19 kills and four blocks, and Greg Guese and Jerome Hill each had 14 digs for the Rattlers, who trailed 14-11 in the final game before battling back to pull out their first Northwest League win since 2008.
Shaquille Wilson had eight kills for the Desert Shields. Irvin Leu contributed seven kills and five aces, and Jose Soto registered four aces and six kills for Cheyenne.
Centennial 3, Arbor View 1 — At Centennial, Leo Dirkin dished out 37 assists, and Cameron Olsen had 10 digs as the Bulldogs downed Arbor View, 25-21, 25-20, 19-25, 25-10.
Ryan Ramin added nine kills and four blocks, and Tyler Rogers and Mike Robinson each had eight kills for Centennial.
Taylor Jones had 20 assists and two aces for Arbor View. Kilroy Mengent added 11 kills, and Shiloh Pechacek had five digs for the Aggies.
Shadow Ridge 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Jake Shea had 13 kills and 13 digs to help the Mustangs to a 25-11, 25-17, 25-19 sweep of Cimarron.
Jalen Makaiwi tallied 33 assists and seven digs for Shadow Ridge.
Tanner Maxwell led the Spartans with 11 assists, four kills and three aces. Ares Manumaleuna added six kills and seven digs, and Aaron Bowers contributed eight assists and five kills for Cimarron.
Palo Verde 3, Legacy 0 — At Legacy, Sean Wilson had 26 assists, two blocks and two aces as Palo Verde swept the Longhorns, 25-12, 25-22, 25-20.
Drew Topham added 13 kills and six digs, and Brandon King registered six kills and two blocks for the Panthers.
Justin Paquin supplied seven kills and two blocks, and Hector Rojado had 16 assists and three aces for Legacy.
Del Sol 3, Foothill 2 — At Del Sol, Zack Deittrick had five kills and 11 digs as the Dragons outlasted Foothill, 25-19, 25-18, 20-25, 21-25, 15-12.
Cameron Ely had 14 digs and three aces for the Dragons. Alfredo Ramirez supplied four kills and four digs, and James Johnson added eight kills for Del Sol.
Britain Rosenberg dished out 30 assists for Foothill. Joel Stoker had four blocks, and F.J. Funtila contributed 14 kills for the Falcons.
Liberty 3, Tech 2 — At Tech, Brendon Reano hammered 23 kills as the Patriots held off Tech, 25-20, 17-25, 25-11, 18-25, 15-3.
Paul Acluba dished out 35 assists and five aces, and Darryl Smith had 10 aces and three digs for Liberty.
Alex Prado had three kills and 10 digs, and Abel Hernandez added four kills and four blocks for the Roadrunners.
Silverado 3, Green Valley 0 — At Green Valley, Casey Hadland supplied 19 assists and eight digs as Silverado topped the Gators, 25-17, 25-12, 25-17.
Kyle Devicino had five kills, and Rusty Santiago added 10 digs for Silverado.
Coronado 3, Basic 0 — At Basic, Bryan Arana’s 12 kills helped Coronado to a 25-10, 25-17, 25-14 victory over the Wolves.
Tyler McCormick added 11 digs, and Jordan Osmundson had six kills and three blocks for the Cougars.
Stephen Udall paced Basic with 23 assists. Jordan Pils had 12 kills and Jarin Sillitoe supplied 18 digs for the Wolves.
