I-A VOLLEYBALL: Mountain Lions sweep Moapa Valley, move into region semifinals

Faith Gray-Williams dished out 22 assists, and Bridgette Levi provided 10 kills and four aces on Tuesday to help host Sierra Vista's girls volleyball team down Moapa Valley, 25-16, 25-13, 25-19 in a Division I-A Southern Region quarterfinal.

Shantalle Demirjian added seven kills and three aces for the Mountain Lions (19-12), who will face Virgin Valley (25-7) in a semifinal at 5 p.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran.

Shelbi Walker had five kills, and JaLea Blasingame tallied four kills for the Pirates (22-11).

Virgin Valley 3, Pahrump Valley 0 — At Mesquite, Bernice Fiso had 13 kills, four aces and 20 digs as the Bulldogs beat the Trojans, 25-12, 25-17, 26-24.

Janella Fiso added 27 assists, and Kaydee Bingham and Emma Barnum each had seven kills for Virgin Valley.

Pahrump finished 18-17.

Boulder City 3, Spring Valley 1 — At Boulder City, Maggie Roe had 19 kills and two blocks as the Eagles topped the Grizzlies, 25-17, 25-17, 22-25, 25-13.

Jayden Wood had 10 kills and four aces, and Emma Jeppsen added six kills, 10 digs and two blocks for Boulder City (21-9), which will visit Faith Lutheran (26-11) at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Tara Cox had 31 assists, and Bayden Huxford added 22 digs and six aces for the Eagles.

Faith Lutheran 3, Tech 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Megan Kronschnabel dished out 30 assists in the Crusaders' 25-7, 25-11, 25-8 sweep of the Roadrunners.

Logan Van Reken had 12 digs, and teammate Bobbi Tharaldson added eight kills for Faith Lutheran, which got seven kills apiece from Tayah Washington and Sydney Washington.

Tech finished 11-17.
