Palo Verde wins to claim outright Northwest title

Tori Lounsbery dished out 22 assists, two aces and three blocks Tuesday as Palo Verde’s girls volleyball team clinched the outright Northwest League title with a 27-25, 25-21, 25-21 win over visting Arbor View.
Ainsley Lovejoy had 10 kills, four digs and two aces for the Panthers, who finished 15-1 in league play.
Jovana Sisovic added 10 kills, and Niki Molin had 12 digs and four aces for Palo Verde.
Faith Lutheran 3, Shadow Ridge 1— At Faith Lutheran, Kelsey McCourt dished out 27 assists, and Kayla McCourt had nine digs to lead the Falcons past the Mustangs 27-25, 25-12, 20-25, 25-12.
Alex Treadwell added 10 kills, Hayley Washinsky had seven kills and three aces, and Megan Hauser had five aces for Faith Lutheran.
Destinee Beavers had eight kills and three digs, and Rachel Childers had 35 assists, five aces and seven digs for Shadow Ridge.
Legacy 3, Cheyenne 1 — At Cheyenne, Tia Matthews had five kills and six blocks as Legacy downed the Desert Shields, 18-25, 25-19, 25-12, 25-15.
Kayla Murray added seven kills, and Halle Champion had three kills and four assists for the Longhorns.
Cimarron-Memorial 3, Mojave 0 — At Cimarron, Merrik Frost dished out 24 assists to lead the Spartans to a 25-9, 25-16, 25-22 win over the Rattlers.
Mariah Kelley and Mindy Cloyes had seven kills each for Cimarron.
 
Bobbie Harris had nine digs, and Vanessa Torajillo added eight assists for Mojave.
Sierra Vista 3, Durango 0 — At Sierra Vista, Brooke Robinson had 11 kills and 10 aces to lead the Mountain lions past the Trailblazers 25-22, 25-19, 25-17.
Kayla Forte had 19 digs and Johnie Pride added five kills for Sierra Vista.
Borjana Djukic led Durango with 12 digs. Sherelle Hicks had seven kills and Kylie Ferri six.
Spring Valley 3, Clark 1 — At Spring Valley, Kiley Bortman had 13 assists to lead the Grizzlies to a 25-19, 25-15, 25-11, 25-13 win over the Chargers.
Elena Kniola had seven digs, and Ciny Yang added four aces for Spring Valley.
Desert Oasis 3, Western 2 — At Western, the Diamondbacks edged the Warriors 25-20, 25-17, 17-25, 20-25, 19-17.
Michelle Simon had 23 kills, Daresheoun Lee added 17 kills, and Erica Reynada notched eight digs for Western.
Pahrump Valley 3, Bonanza 1 — At Pahrump, Ashley Lindgren dished out 19 assists, and Taylor McJunkin had 11 kills to help the host Trojans to a 25-12, 25-27, 25-23, 25-19 win over Bonanza.
Alyson Kunzi had 10 digs, and Taylor Ball had six kills for Pahrump.
Callyn Snow had 12 kills and Jessica Wilcox added nine for the Bengals.
Boulder City 3, Moapa Valley 1 — At Moapa Valley, the Eagles defeated the Pirates 25-22, 25-19, 19-25, 25-19.
Caley Dunlap had 25 digs, and Ashley Noto had eight kills for Moapa Valley.
Lake Mead 3, Sandy Valley 0 — At Lake Mead, Jocelyn Cox had 20 assists and 10 aces, and Amanda Wellman added eight kills and 10 aces as the Eagles clinched the outright Class 1A Southern League title with a 25-5, 25-10, 25-6 rout of Sandy Valley.
 
Sam Herman added eight kills, and Annabelle Liston and Emma Khachikian had four aces apiece for Lake Mead.
Henderson International 3, Trinity 0 — At Henderson International, Pamela Sakuma had 14 kills and three aces to help the Wolverines to a 25-15, 26-24, 25-18 win over the Thunder.
Alyssa Ayers added four aces and four digs, and Lee Harrison had four kills and four blocks for Henderson International.
Andrea Martinez led Trinity with 14 kills, 16 digs and two aces. Sarah Njorge added 15 assists, six digs and four kills, and Hannah Neiderofer had seven digs for Trinity.
Agassi Prep 3, Indian Springs 0 — At Agassi Prep, NDea Cottrell had seven kills, eight digs and three aces to help the Stars down Indian Springs, 25-21, 25-16, 25-19.
Noelle Chavis added nine assists, five kills, five blocks and four aces for the Stars. Shanice Allen had six aces, Allannah Conway five kills and LaBrishun Hardwick seven digs for Agassi Prep.
