ROUNDUP: Newton’s consistency helps Lake Mead sweep Needles

Ashley Newton racked up 11 kills and eight digs in each match of a doubleheader Friday as Lake Mead’s girls volleyball team swept host Needles, 25-22, 25-11 in the opener and 25-19, 25-21 in the nightcap.
Anny Liston had 12 digs, and Taylor Vetter added 11 assists for the Eagles in the opening match.
In the nightcap, Megan Watkins contributed nine assists and three digs, and Liston supplied nine digs.
Agassi Prep 3, Laughlin 2 — At Agassi Prep, LaBrishun Hardwick had 15 kills and 12 digs to help the Stars rally for a 17-25, 25-21, 23-25, 25-22, 15-10 win over the Cougars.
Noelle Chavis added 12 assists, and Alanna Conway supplied 11 digs and eight kills for Agassi Prep, which also got nine digs and eight kills from N’Dea Cottrell.
Lincoln County 2-2, Mountain View 0-0 — At Panaca, the Lynx swept the Saints by scores of 25-10, 25-13, and 25-11, 25-20.
Mountain View's Katelyn Krebs had five kills, two blocks and eight aces.
Tonopah 3, Beatty 0 — At Beatty, Britney Klapper dished out 21 assists, and Sam Kimber posted 10 kills to help the Muckers to a 25-13, 25-20, 25-22 win over the Hornets.
Amanda O’Donnell added eight kills and four digs, and Deanna Van Poucke contributed five kills for Tonopah.
