ROUNDUP: Richardson, Foutz help Wolves earn playoff spot

Kamisha Richardson supplied 13 kills and five digs, and teammate Tori Foutz added seven kills Wednesday as Basic’s girls volleyball team earned the Southeast League’s final berth into the Sunrise Region playoffs with a 25-16, 25-11, 25-9 sweep at Tech.

Basic’s win, coupled with Foothill’s home loss to Silverado, left the Wolves and Falcons tied for fourth place in the Southeast at 7-7. Basic and Foothill split their two league meetings, but the Wolves won the tiebreaker by virtue of their beaten opponents’ wins.

Evelyn Lopez led Tech with five assists.

Silverado 3, Foothill 2 — At Foothill, Kayla Agae had 26 kills and 27 digs as the Skyhawks rallied for a 25-11, 20-25, 17-25, 25-9, 15-9 win over the Falcons.

Morgan Little had 34 assists and seven aces, and Ku’uipo Brown contributed 24 digs for Silverado.

Zoe Wolfenbarger paced Foothill with 20 assists and 16 digs. Emma Khachikian added 20 digs, and Rebecca Hill had 10 kills for the Falcons.

Chaparral 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Chaparral, Jaeda Allen posted 17 kills and four aces, and Cheyenne Huntsman added eight digs and seven aces to help the Cowboys down the Pioneers, 25-14, 25-16, 25-14.

Tasha Montano had 14 assists, and Sydney Morris put down seven kills for Canyon Springs.

Las Vegas 3, Rancho 0 — At Las Vegas High, Tiffany Jackson tallied 22 assists and 10 digs as the Wildcats swept the Rams, 25-18, 25-4, 25-20.

Desirae Lair posted 12 digs and seven kills, and Katie Matthews supplied 13 digs for Las Vegas, which got six kills from Carly Cottle.

Sunrise Mountain 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Tiara Veal dished out 21 assists, and Lenny Estrada tallied six kills and four aces to help the visiting Miners sweep the Jaguars, 25-18, 25-17, 25-11.

Alicia Winchester spiked seven kills, and Tania Amaya added five kills for Sunrise Mountain.

Coronado 3, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, Hailey Schulz compiled 18 assists, nine digs and two aces, and Kuulei Piena had eight digs and six kills as the Cougars swept the Dragons, 25-22, 25-9, 25-20.

Berkeley Oblad added eight kills and four blocks for Coronado.

Desiree Orozco dished out 20 assists, and Angela Johnson had five kills and five blocks for Del Sol.

Valley 3, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Lenore Porter distributed 29 assists, and Clarissa Herrera racked up 16 kills and seven blocks in the Vikings’ 25-16, 25-18, 25-23 sweep of the Sundevils.

Nyla Whalum had 21 digs, and Zoe Galindo added seven digs for Valley.
Chelsea Upshaw paced Eldorado with 15 assists and seven digs. Sarah Kanet supplied six digs and

three kills, and Alexis Vaccaro had six kills, five digs and three aces for the Sundevils.

Green Valley 3, Centennial 0 — At Green Valley, Jenna Swaffer tallied 26 assists, eight digs and three aces, and Carly Schiess had seven kills and five digs to help the Gators sweep the Bulldogs, 25-23, 25-13, 25-21.

Alexa Drost added 12 digs and three aces for Green Valley.

Lacy Miyahira had 11 assists and 10 kills, and Kristi Farley distributed 16 assists for Centennial. Kassidy Welte provided eight digs and five kills for the Bulldogs, who got nine digs from Ashley Hill.
