WRESTLING: Brown, Alvarado lead Bulldogs over Spartans

Hunter Brown recorded a pin at 195 pounds, and Roger Alvarado won by pin at 220 on Wednesday to help Centennial’s wrestling team to a 36-32 win over host Cimarron-Memorial.

Andres Bonifaz (120), Jesse Saavedra (126), Davin Maiden (170) and Miguel Torres (285) all won by fall for the Spartans.

Chaparral 38, Sunrise Mountain 12 — At Sunrise Mountain, Zachary Ziembo (138) and Sheldon Phoenix (170) each won by pin to lead the Cowboys by the Miners.

Thomas Butler (285) had a pin for Sunrise Mountain.

Pahrump Valley 57, Cheyenne 22 — At Pahrump, Samuel Tucsnak (170) and Jeremy Coates (220) each won by pin to help the Trojans top the Desert Shields.

Oscar Gonzalez (120) and Elagio Schuler (160) each won by pin for Cheyenne.

Las Vegas 43, Canyon Springs 30 — At Canyon Springs, Antonio Saldate (113), Nicholas Sablan (126), Jake Bowden (132), Andrew Stokes (145) and Robert Kaempfer (285) each won by pin to lead the Wildcats by the Pioneers.

Soriano Rodriguez (120), William Stevenson (138), Antoey White (152), Juan Plancarte (170) and Joseph Morris (182) each won by pin for Canyon Springs.

Faith Lutheran 44, Sierra Vista 24 — At Western, Owen Lawrie pinned his 138-pound opponent in 49 seconds as the Crusaders topped the Mountain Lions.

Trenton May (113), Dominic Paulos (152), A.J. Scott (182) and Cameron Cox (195) also won by fall for Faith Lutheran.

Sierra Vista’s Noah Slabaugh (126) recorded the team’s lone pin.

Faith Lutheran 39, Western 21 — At Western, May (113), Bryce Raymond (120) and Jadon Pauling (126) each won by fall and the Crusaders used three forfeits to down the Warriors.

Western’s Luis Lopez (145) and Dominique Boles (170) recorded pins.

Sierra Vista 42, Western 30 — At Western, Edris Omar (120) recorded the match’s only pin, and the Mountain Lions benefited from four forfeits to top the Warriors.

Western’s Alex Richardson beat his 138-pound opponent by technical fall, 15-0.

Spring Valley 42, Clark 30 — At Spring Valley, The Grizzlies recorded six pins en route to the win over the Chargers.
