Buddy Brits score chart topper

The two most famous Brits on the Strip have joined forces to notch a song atop two dance charts in Britain.

Matt Goss -- singing tonight and Saturday at Caesars, as usual -- recorded his brooding ballad, "Firefly."

Then came up-tempo remixes from his friend Paul Oakenfold, the world's most famous DJ (whose Perfecto promotions are Saturdays at the Palms).

Now the remixed "Firefly" is No. 1 on two charts: the UK Upfront Club Top 40 chart and the DMC World Trance chart, says British trade magazine Music Week.

Years ago, Goss shot to fame in Britain for singing dance songs in boy band Bros. So he's glad to cross into the genre again with "Firefly."

"Someone, someplace in a club, is dancing their head off to it," Goss says. "When you think of people in Ibiza getting down to your music, it's nice."

The lyrics to "Firefly" are dark, referencing a shallow grave, black crows and bloodshot eyes. But it's ultimately about angels looking over you.

Goss says the song is morbid but positive, capturing the feeling of when you feel "hideously detached" from the world, yet feel guided by a "divine order guarding over you."

"I like twisted lyrics," he says.

You can hear the remix at MattGoss.biz.
