November 29, 2013 - 12:44 pm
Fire officials said 18 people, including 13 children, were transported from the Rio to area hospitals Friday morning after experiencing flu-like symptoms.
The children ranged in age from 7 to 9.
Clark County Fire Department personnel responded to the hotel about 10 a.m. after calls came in that members from a youth football team from Santa Monica, Calif., were suffering from symptoms that included nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, according to the Fire Department.
These are also the symptoms of food poisoning.
Ambulances were on scene, and Rio shuttles transported the ill people.
It is unknown where or what the team ate while in Las Vegas.
