Funeral for former R-J columnist Kimak is Monday

A funeral for former Review-Journal outdoors columnist John Kimak will be 10:40 a.m. Monday in the chapel of the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.

Kimak, an Air Force veteran, longtime Las Vegas resident and retired Chaparral High School teacher, died Wednesday after a three-year bout with leukemia. He was 77.

He wrote about fishing, hunting and wildlife issues for the Las Vegas Review-Journal from 1979 to 2003.

The veterans cemetery is located at 1900 Buchanan Blvd., in Boulder City.
