Henderson woman hospitalized after standoff with police

A woman was hospitalized early Friday morning after a standoff with police, according to Henderson officials.

Henderson police were called to a house on Trail Canyon Road, near Stephanie Street and American Pacific Drive, around 9 p.m. Thursday.

A woman in her 50s had barricaded herself in her home with her mother, Henderson spokeswoman Kathleen Richards said. Officers were able to get the mother out of the house before they called Henderson SWAT to negotiate with the woman still inside.

Richards said the woman had a gun, but no shots were fired.

When she came out of the house at 2:30 a.m, she was taken to Sunrise Hospital, Richards said. After she is released from the hospital she will face arrest, according to Richards.
