Hilton back on LV’s club scene

Three and a half months after being banned from Steve Wynn's properties, Paris Hilton returned to the Las Vegas club scene Tuesday night for the first time.

But before showing up at Pure nightclub at Caesars Palace with a camera crew and galpals, she made a point of sending a message that her trip wasn't all about partying.

"Volunteered all day at @AnimalFndLV," she said, in a posting on Twitter. "Made me cry 2 C animals needing homes. Adopted a dog 2day!"

Hilton was banned from Wynn's two resorts after her arrest for cocaine possession in late August.

Part of the sentence handed down by Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Joe Bonaventure ordered Hilton to complete 200 hours of community service.

A number of local club operators told Vegas Confidential at the time of Wynn's ban that they would be wary about having her in their clubs after the drug incident.

Her return to the Las Vegas club scene comes a few months after Pure Management Group was purchased by Angel Management Group, which was founded by British entrepreneur Neil Moffit. PMG has been under a cloud of an IRS investigation for almost three years.

Moffit wouldn't be the first Las Vegas club operator to book a controversial figure to promote a club.

Hilton brought along a camera crew over the weekend to shoot a segment for her new show on the Oxygen Channel, teaming up with Charlie Sheen's ex Brooke Mueller. Hilton has been filming birthday-related activities with one of her friends, Playboy Playmate of the Month Jennifer Rovero.

They partied at Crazy Horse III, Cabo Wabo Cantina at Planet Hollywood Resort, hit Michael Boychuck's Color salon at Caesars Palace and dined at Serendipity before heading for a midnight red carpet appearance at Pure.

Among the 200-strong "American Idol" delegation staying at The Mirage since last weekend: more than a half-dozen leading music producers who worked with the 60 contestants. Heavyweight Jimmy Iovine, who heads Interscope/Geffen/A&M, has arranged to have many top names assist as mentors. The 40 remaining contestants are attending "Love" tonight. ...

That rumor that won't die -- that The Mirage is up for sale -- is circulating again. "To the best of my knowledge, we are a going concern," new President Felix Rappaport said Tuesday, "and we're certainly operating as if we're going to be here for a long time." ...

Garth Brooks told CNN's Larry King on Monday that he's cutting back his shows at Wynn Las Vegas next year. His five-year deal includes ownership of a private jet when his 60 weeks of shows are up. He performed 15 weeks this year. ...

Philadelphia Phillies star Shane Victorino is having his third annual toy drive Sunday at Madison Avenue Bar & Grill. Victorino, who makes his off-season home in Las Vegas, has a ton of memorabilia. Most of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Shade Tree Shelter.

The Killers' Brandon Flowers and band mate Dave Keuning, dining at Todd English P.U.B. (CityCenter) Tuesday after touring The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Other members of The Killers ate at STK (Cosmopolitan) for dinner on Monday. Flowers is performing a concert at tonight's opening of The Cosmopolitan. ...
