Intersection of Decatur, Vegas to be closed this weekend

An intersection in the northwest part of the Las Vegas Valley will be closed this weekend for construction.

A storm drain that should help alleviate street flooding is slated to be installed at intersection of Vegas Drive and Decatur Boulevard, managed by the city of Las Vegas. Sanitation lines will be upgraded as well.

Construction will start Friday evening and should end early Monday morning. The city recommends taking Washington Avenue or West Lake Mead Boulevard instead of Vegas Drive, and taking Jones Boulevard or Rancho Drive instead of Decatur Boulevard.

The Clark County Regional Flood District is funding the project along with Las Vegas and the Regional Transportation Commission.
