Las Vegas bus crash sends one to the hospital, knocks out traffic lights

A crash involving an RTC bus sent a man to the hospital and knocked out traffic lights at a central Las Vegas intersection Wednesday morning.

Las Vegas police responded to the intersection of Eastern and Harmon avenues around 9:45 a.m., where they found a collision between an SUV and a Regional Transportation Commission bus.

The driver of the SUV was transported to Sunrise Hospital with minor injuries, officer Larry Hadfield said. He was unsure of injuries to bus riders.

During the collision, a power box was hit and the lights at the intersection went out, causing some traffic delays. A northbound lane of Eastern Avenue was closed while the crash was cleaned up, Hadfield said.

A crew was on its way to fix the traffic lights at 11 a.m., as was a tow truck to help clear the intersection.
