Las Vegas police seize $5.6 million worth of marijuana over a week’s time

Las Vegas police seized an estimated $5.6 million worth of marijuana in the last week after a series of grow house raids throughout the valley.

From Jan. 23 to Jan. 28, police raided four houses and confiscated 2,268 marijuana plants, 61.8 pounds of marijuana ready to sell, a handgun — and one alligator.

Police believe the four houses they raided were rental properties and were connected to Rudy Rivera and Joseph Ramirez, both of California.

Rivera was booked on charges of possession, possession with intent to sell, and trafficking.

Ramirez was booked on charges of possession, possession with intent to sell, trafficking, conspiracy to violate the Uniform Controlled Substance Act, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
