1 pedestrian dead, 1 hospitalized after northeast valley crash

One pedestrian died and one was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash in the northeast valley Friday night.

The crash happened after 8 p.m. on Las Vegas Boulevard, just north of the Cheyenne Avenue intersection. Though Metro is investigating the fatality, Lt. W. Graham said the second pedestrian did not have life-threatening injuries.

Las Vegas Boulevard was shut down in both directions — for both street and sidewalk traffic — between Cheyenne and Walnut Road as the investigation continues. Graham said a vehicle description was not yet available.
