Desert Oasis High School temporarily locked down after knife threat
Desert Oasis High School was on lockdown for about 25 minutes Thursday morning after a student was threatened with a knife.
A man, who is about 18 or 19 and is not a student at Desert Oasis, brought a knife onto the campus and threatened a female student, Clark County School District police Capt. Ken Young said.
The school was on lockdown starting at 9:45 a.m., a school district spokeswoman said.
Las Vegas police responded to assist school district police in finding the man after he left the campus. The man was taken into custody and did not have the weapon on him, Young said.
Police are conducting witness interviews as part of the ongoing investigation.
The relationship between the man and female student was not immediately known.
